The right order to use your body care

Scrub, wash, moisturise, then balm. The order that gets the most from each product, and what each step should feel like.

The right order to use your body care

A good body routine is simple: scrub, wash and moisturise, then finish with balm wherever skin is drier. Each MIKOA product does one job, and does it in a way you will notice. Here is the order, and what each step should feel like.

Step 1: Scrub, with Renew Pine Scrub

Renew is a dry pine wood scrub, activated with water. Rub a little between wet palms and it turns into a soft foam that exfoliates and cleanses at the same time. It is gentle enough to use through the week, and it leaves skin smooth and ready for everything that comes next. On scrub days, it can stand in for your wash.

Step 2: Wash, with Awaken Body Wash

Awaken is a silky body wash. It literally feels like silk as you smooth it over damp skin. It is not a mountain of bubbles; the lather is soft and light, and it rinses clean. Jojoba, sweet almond and coconut oils stay behind so skin feels moisturised, never tight, with Kakadu Plum, Finger Lime and Aloe Vera in the mix. The eucalyptus, mandarin and lemon myrtle scent is a proper wake-up.

Step 3: Moisturise, with Hydrate Lotion

Smooth Hydrate over clean, dry skin, morning and evening. The texture is silky and lightweight and it sinks in fast, with no sticky finish. Camellia seed oil, shea and argan give lasting moisture, and Kakadu Plum, Lilli Pilli and Davidson Plum bring native antioxidant care. The way your skin feels afterwards is the best part.

Step 4: Balm, with Nourishing Balm

For drier skin, cooler months or the evening, finish with Nourishing Balm. It is a thick, rich cream that you feel go on, then it melts in and leaves skin deeply soft. Shea and cocoa butters do the heavy lifting, with Quandong, Kakadu Plum and Tasmanian Pepperberry. Warm rosewood and bergamot make it a lovely way to end the day.

What a week might look like

  • Most days: Awaken, then Hydrate.
  • Two or three times a week (or more, if your skin loves it): Renew first, or blended with Awaken.
  • Evenings and drier days: add Nourishing Balm.
